New article published in Advanced Functional Materials on "Disorder and Confinement Effects to Tune the Optical Properties of Amino Acid Doped Cu2O Crystals"
10.05.2022
In this paper by Mariam Kurashvili et al. we report on new insights in the field of 'Artificial Biomineralization'. Doping of Cu2O crystals with amino acids leads to drastic changes in absorption, but not in optical emission. We explain these surprising results by taking into account not only internal confinement effects but also disorder effects. This is an outcome from our collaboration with the group of Prof. Boaz Pokroy from Technion (Haifa, Israel) funded by the German-Israeli-Foundation (GIF).
